We Are Monitoring

A custom interactive website using maps, data visualizations, and testimonies to highlight the humanitarian crisis at the Polish-Belarusian border and engage global audiences

About the Client

We Are Monitoring Association belongs to the Granica Group coalition—a solidarity network of NGOs, informal initiatives, and local residents that provide humanitarian aid along the Polish-Belarusian border. Since 2021, they have gathered, analyzed, and published real-time data on migrant movements, support operations, abuses of power, and various forms of violence (including institutional pushbacks). By collecting testimonies from those who experienced pushbacks, they aim to give a platform to people whose rights to freedom of movement and safety have been denied. Their work not only documents violations but also enriches public discourse on migration by creating space for those directly affected to share their stories.

Listening to Urgency

When the Granica Group reached out, they carried a heavy story: the human struggle unfolding at the Polish‑Belarusian border. We sat down in a series of focused sessions, absorbing every testimony and data point they shared.

Shaping an Interactive Experience

With their mission clear, we sketched a custom design that brings maps, charts, and personal accounts to life. Using Figma, WordPress, Mapbox, and OpenStreet data, we wove accuracy with empathy in every element.

Building with Precision

Our team coded each interactive map and visual using JavaScript and Tableau, making sure each popup and data point tells a human story. We tested languages, layouts, and loading times until every detail honored the cause.

Staying Connected & Celebrating Impact

After launch, we provided training, analytics reports, and updates—ensuring the site stays current and impactful. Today, volunteers, donors, and the global community turn to WeAreMonitoring.org.pl for real‑time insights, making a difference one click at a time.

Clients Feedback

Natalia Ciaston

Coordinator of We Are Monitoring Association

As the We Are Monitoring Association, dedicated to monitoring the humanitarian crisis at the Polish-Belarusian border, we decided to ask Digiteria to build our website. In choosing a developer, we wanted to support an initiative led by people with refugee experience. We’re very glad we found Sanjar and his team—being their first clients, we learned together as we went through the design and build process. Sanjar took the time to explain various possible site functionalities and patiently accommodated our successive change requests. He was also open to unconventional ideas and sought affordable, budget-friendly solutions. The final result not only met but exceeded our expectations. A website is never truly finished—Sanjar continues to support us today, providing technical assistance and making necessary updates. Thank you for your patience and the entire collaborative process. We also recommend Digiteria’s services!
